Delhi water Minister seeks urgent meeting with LG amid water crisis

Water Minister Atishi sought an urgent meeting with Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena to address the "inadequate water" being released by the Haryana government from the Munak Canal.

She warned that if the water supply does not increase immediately, the city's water crisis will worsen within two days.

"Have sought time from the Hon'ble @LtGovDelhi for an emergency meeting to apprise him of the inadequate water being released by Haryana from the Munak Canal," Atishi posted on X. She noted that Delhi is supposed to receive 1,050 cusecs of water from the Munak Canal via the CLC and DSB sub-canals. However, the current supply has dropped to 840 cusecs. Seven Water Treatment Plants rely on this water. If the situation does not improve today, the water situation across Delhi will worsen within one to two days. Atishi appealed to the Lt Governor, as the representative of the Central Government, to intervene and resolve the crisis.
