The ongoing tug of war between the BJP and Congress doesn't seem to end any sooner.
Ironically, the opposition appears to have once again fallen into a trap set by the BJP. It can be said that the BJP has managed to get the INDIA alliance to play on its own terms once more. The Congress and its few allies have unknowingly paved the way for the BJP by raising the flag of Muslim appeasement. Despite not intending to, the Congress has become entangled in appeasement politics, largely due to its leader Rahul Gandhi being an MP from Uttar Pradesh. This has made appeasement politics a political necessity for him.
