Bar Associations Urged CJI To Initiate Criminal Investigation Against Justice Yashwant Varma | Cash Row

Justice Varma has denied of such possession of cash and claimed it to be a conspiracy against him.

The Several Bar Associations of the various High Courts have approached the High Court requesting the CJI, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, to initiate a criminal investigation against Justice Varma and to withdraw the recommendation to transfer the Judge to Allahabad High Court.

The official statement of Several Bar Associations has made the following request: 'The Bar Associations places on record its appreciation of steps taken by the Chief Justice of India, CJI to embrace transparency and to make public the report of the Chief Justice of High Court of Delhi and other materials on the website of the Supreme Court of India.'

The Bar Association requested the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court Collegium to withdraw transfer of Justice Yashwant Varma and to withdraw all administrative work in addition to the Judicial work which is already withdrawn and to set aside the criminal law in motion as is applicable to any government servant.
