Assam CM surveys proposed IIM site in Kamrup, foresees centre's approval of Rs 1,000 cr

Assam's Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Ar Sarma, embarked on a significant visit on Tuesday to survey the proposed site for an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Kamrup district.

This location, recently greenlit by the Union government, is situated in the Marabhita and Dighalkuchi areas. The IIM, slated to be the second in the Northeast after IIM Shillong in Meghalaya, will cover approximately 574 bighas of government land.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the Rajdhar Bora Higher Secondary School in Azara, reviewing the ongoing infrastructure development efforts. Furthermore, he assessed the renovation works at the upcoming "sub-district office" in Jalukbari, currently known as Haj Bhawan.
