Llamas knocked off top spot after Wimbledon loss
Surrey Mirror
|June 26, 2025
FORMER Llama James Crosthwaite played a starring role as Wimbledon beat Reigate Priory by 103 runs in the Surrey Championship Premier Division on Saturday.
-
Crosthwaite hit 115 runs from 166 balls as Wimbledon amassed 274 from 66 overs - a total the home team finished well short of.
Six games in, and after last week's run chase at Esher, Priory were top of the Premier a third of the way into a topsy-turvy season.
Wimbledon won the toss on a hot day at the Priory and unsurprisingly decided to bat first.
Richard Stevens and Fraser Sheat removed the openers, and regularly went past the outside edge, and after eight overs Wimbledon were 23-2.
A few decisions then went the visitors’ way and Australian pair Jack Boyle and former Priory keeper/bat Crosthwaite steadied the ship.
