AIM OF 'LEAVING A LASTING LEGACY FOR YEARS TO COME'

TWO churches and one community hub in the Guildford area have been awarded a combined total of nearly £2 million by Surrey County Council (SCC), to support the “ambitious ideas” residents have in mind for the religious buildings and the communities they foster.
In the latest Surrey County Council cabinet meeting, decisions were made for another “fantastic milestone” for the Your Fund Surrey project, which will see two churches and a community hall in the Guildford area be given funding with the aim of “leaving a lasting legacy that will support communities for years to come”.
Your Fund Surrey was established in 2023 with the aim of giving local communities the opportunity to shape their surroundings and deliver projects that matter most to them.
The fund supports initiatives that provide “lasting community benefit, encourage collaboration and address local needs”.
Surrey County Council deputy leader and cabinet member for customer and communities Denise Turner-Stewart said: “Your Fund Surrey’s Large Community Projects Fund continues to be a phenomenal success, directly supporting our residents’ bold ambitions for their local areas.
