"It's amazing to think that just 6 months ago I could hardly get out of bed...now look at me!"

Pauline Brown has just finished an hour-long swim at her local leisure centre with friends Pat and Joyce - something she thought impossible just months before.

Pauline, 63, was involved in a car accident near her home. The impact cracked her collarbone and the seatbelt caused trauma to her hip joints. Her night in hospital was painful and uncomfortable.

“The months after the crash were agony. I was prescribed painkillers, but I felt that they weren't working how they should, or that I was becoming too reliant on them to stop the constant pain.
