A runner is set to complete a mammoth challenge.

Joe Larkin started running from Madrid, in Spain, on Sunday, August 3, and today he will finally make it home to South Shields, having covered more than 1,000 miles in the process.

The journey has seen the 30-year-old cross the huge elevation of the Pyrenees Mountains, run in temperatures of around 40°C, and even run for 28 hours straight to try and catch a ferry from France to England.
