Soft fruits were made for gardens large or small. and container culture, but of course there are exceptions.

We have the thornless blackberry 'Loch Ness' which would ramble all over the place if allowed so it’s trained along espalier wires that support the apples.

The whopping sized fruits are a far cry from those gathered in the autumn countryside as an enthusiastic youngster.

I don’t miss the thorns, and they're ready now! All branch tips that touch the soil develop roots and a new plant is born.
