Tommy's Oscar may be approaching the veteran stage of his career but he could still be good enough to defy top-weight in the NSPCC School Service Handicap Chase at Kelso tomorrow.

He will turn 11 on New Year's Day, but having been given a bit of respite by the handicapper there are reasons to believe he can make his younger rivals go a bit.
He has been an absolute star for Ann and Ian Hamilton, winning 12 of his 33 races, with last season the first time he failed to win.
