Eskom is embroiled in a spectacular new scandal, accused of deliberately lying to high-level municipal authorities to cover up a critical corruption investigation.

The deception appears aimed at protecting its former head of forensics, Chris Baloye the man alleged to have contracted a hitman to assassinate the very whistleblower who exposed R2-billion in suspicious, and possibly criminal, transactions within the national power producer.

Former Eskom forensic expert Dorothy Mmushi is furious.

She believes a calculated, institutional cover-up is designed to shield Baloye from justice for his alleged role in looting the power giant.
