JOAO'S LATE LEVELLER SNATCHES AWAY WOLVES' FIRST VICTORY

- BY STEVE JUDGE

Spurs' old Pal act

JOAO PALHINHA rode to Tottenham’s rescue with a stunning injury-time strike to break Wolves hearts.

Spurs had barely mustered an attempt on goal in a second half the visitors had totally controlled.

But just days after scoring with a spectacular overhead kick in the Carabao Cup playing centre-half, defensive stopper Palhinha was at it again.

He arrived on loan from Bayern Munich as a destroyer of opposition attacks. But he is fast becoming a destroyer of dreams.

His low drive from the edge of the box flying past Sam Johnstone to leave Wolves boss Vitor Pereira cursing as the final whistle blew.

He believed his side had done more than enough to win their first league game on the back of Santiago Buenos first goal for the club on 54 minutes.
