Lib Dem donor's migrant profits

THE Lib Dems’ biggest election donor is today revealed as the co-owner of a hotel firm for asylum seekers that was so poor the Government has dropped it.

Stay Belvedere Hotels (SBHL), which ran 51 hotels in England and Wales, made tens of millions in profits before getting the boot over its performance.

Now we can reveal director Safwan Adam, 37, gave Ed Davey’s party nearly £500,000 before polling day last July - and a total of more than £750,000 over last year.

The former kebab store boss appears to have had no prior experience in the immigration sector yet his firm is believed to have provided about a quarter of Home Office asylum places.
