HOSPITAL parking has for too long been an expensive nightmare for patients and visitors. But it is even worse for nurses.

They are being fined simply for going to work and saving lives. One nurse had to cough up £300 when her staff parking permit was ignored after she rushed to a shift.

There are few other jobs that penalise employees just for turning up to do them.
