LOCKERBIE campaigner Dr Jim Swire has backed our call for a memorial to all UK victims of terror.

- BY SASKIA ROWLANDS

Jim's daughter Flora, 23, was one of 270 killed when Pan Am flight 103 exploded in 1988.

The retired GP, played by Colin Firth in a recent TV drama about the atrocity, said: "I would warmly welcome the setting up of such a monument."

Jim, 89, added: "Our families had become unknowingly involved in an international killing spree, energised by long standing relations between the USA and the Middle East.

"For our families, the pain of bereavement is just as intense as if the cause had been the result of actions our own government had directly taken."
