Kop legend on his terrifying collapse with Super Flu
LIVERPOOL legend Ian Rush feared he was going to die from Super Flu after collapsing at his Chester home.
The 64-year-old, who is now recovering, admitted: "I thought I was a goner. It was terrifying."
In his first interview since the incident, Rush revealed: "I honestly thought I wasn't going to survive.
"I got up around 2am because I was struggling to breathe and went downstairs to make myself a cup of tea but by the time it got to 4am I was feeling even worse and struggling to breathe.
"My fiancee Carol called the ambulance service who came within 10 minutes. They were brilliant and stayed with me for an hour and a half.
"They asked if I wanted to go to the hospital, but I had come round and was feeling a lot better, so decided to stay at home.
"But within 10 minutes of them leaving, I collapsed and we had to phone for another ambulance.
