STEPHEN ROBINSON has urged his St Mirren stars to grab their opportunity to become legends at Hampden.

The Buddies boss is looking to land his first trophy as a manager when he sends his team out to face Celtic.

And he says the iconic status that lies in wait for his players should they produce a shock at the national stadium surrounds them every day.

Pictures of the Saints side that lifted the trophy in 2013 and the 1987 Scottish Cup heroes are plastered all round the Ralston training base and SMISA Stadium.

And Robinson says belief is rife that they can join their predecessors as Paisley pin-ups by winning the club's fifth major trophy.

He said: "We know the past. Those teams are lauded and rightly so are held in great esteem here.
