SHAUN COULD EARN TOP JOB

STEVEN PRESSLEY insists Shaun Maloney could be in contention for the Celtic job ‘ona permanent basis if he impresses in an interim gig.

The former Scotland star has been put in temporary charge with Martin O'Neill after Brendan Rodgers’ shock exit last week.

Pressley knows that if Maloney and O'Neill can get the champions back on track then it could open the door for his former Celtic and Scotland teammate.

Even if it isn't this time, it could become the case further down the line.

Dundee head coach Pressley said: “Shaun might come under consideration, maybe not for this one but further down the line.

“It could be a situation where he supports anew head coach coming in and then can transition in time into that position.

“That would also be a very sensible outcome.
