Oil tycoon loses case for £122m

A SCOTS oil tycoon has lost an appeal against a decision to throw out a £122million compensation claim against his ex-lawyers and business partners.

Robert Kidd claimed he fell victim to a fraudulent conspiracy by Aberdeen firm Ledingham Chalmers and Texas-based equity house Lime Rock Partners.

The hearing was held in January at Edinburgh's Court of Session after Kidd lost the original nine-figure damages case last year.
