PUBLIC ASKED IF LAWS NEED TO BE TOUGHER

FOOTBALL fans who let off flares at matches could be banned from grounds under new laws.

In a consultation opening tomorrow, the Scottish Government is asking the public for its views on whether existing legislation should be updated to crack down on pyrotechnics use and other forms of disorder at stadiums.

Football Banning Orders (FBOs) are issued by courts to prevent individuals from attending all regulated matches in the UK and they can be imposed for engaging in violence or disorder.
