Killie halt slide but fans aren't happy and neither is Jim

- ALISON MCCONNELL AT RUGBY PARK

KILMARNOCK stopped the rot - but not quite the boos - as they took a point that ended their run of six straight defeats in the Premiership.

Bruce Anderson gave Killie a first-half lead after he was smart to net the rebound after his spot-kick had been saved by Dave Richards.

It was salt in the wounds of a Dundee United side who had blown a great chance to take the lead from the spot with Tobi Oluwayemi denying Max Watters after just 12 minutes.

United’s second-half pressure paid off with Craig Sibbald drawing them level just after the hour mark as they headed back to Tannadice having recovered some stability in the aftermath of last weekend's sobering defeat to Falkirk.

Both teams will feel that they had moments to win it; Tyreece John-Jules had the Killie support on the edge of their seats in added time when he let fly with an effort from the edge of the box that Richards pushed away.
