Put a large pan of salted water on to boil for the pasta.

Add the olive oil to a large, deep sauté pan, and fry the bacon for 4-5 minutes at a medium heat until it crisps round the edges. Add the onion to the pan and stir for 1-2 minutes until it’s starting to soften. Add the red pepper and fry for 2 minutes. Add the pepperoni and cook for 1 minute then add the garlic and cook for another minute, continuing to stir.
