Williams raider doesn't wobble under pressure in Charlie Hall

DJELO was dish of the day for Venetia Williams in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.

The gelding was a well-backed 11/4 shot to bag a fourth Grade 2 win in the historic three-mile contest having failed to fire at the highest level last season.

The seven-year-old dwelt for most of the first circuit on his seasonal bow as Harry Cobden made most of the running on Pic D’Orhy (5/1).

However, he soon warmed to the task when Charlie Deutsch got serious at the 12th and he made smooth headway to join the leader three.
