Elvis makes sure the Dens backline isn't rocking now

- BY NEIL ROBERTSON

RYAN ASTLEY insists there will be no repeat of the fatal flaw that cost Dundee dear last season - especially with former Scotland stopper Steven Pressley now in charge.

The Dark Blues won plenty of plaudits for their attacking flair last term.

They were the Premiership’s fourth highest scorers - but failed miserably to keep the door shut at the other end, conceding a whopping 77 goals, the most in the division.

They narrowly managed to avoid a relegation playoff but the club’s hierarchy still acted ruthlessly, dismissing boss Tony Docherty just 24 hours after safety had been secured.

Pressley took over in the Dens hotseat and Astley admits the former Rangers, Coventry, Dundee United, Hearts, Celtic and Falkirk centre-half has already made a big impression on him at Dens Park.

The 23-year-old defender said: “The summer break was short, preseason was tough and I can't wait for this big game on Sunday.
