Feminists want SWA policy change

A LEADING domestic violence charity's failure to accept the Supreme Court trans ruling is "reprehensible", women's right campaigners have claimed.

Scottish Women's Aid (SWA) insists it needs to wait for updated guidance from the equality watchdog before implementing the ruling.

Campaign group Sex Matters has now hit back, claiming there is "no excuse" for SWA's delay.

The Supreme Court unanimously ruled in April that a woman is defined by biological sex under equalities law, meaning that trans women - men identifying as female - can be excluded from single sex spaces.
