SCOTS cops are at risk of having to pay hefty compensation over failing to enforce the ban on XL bully dogs, it is claimed.

Claims lawyer John Dillon said officers who don't seize XL bullies that kill or maim could leave the force liable for substantial damages.

The warning comes after the Sunday Mail revealed Police Scotland told officers not to seize unregistered XL bully dogs despite new laws following a spate of vicious attacks.
