Waddle worried dodgy defence could be costly

The legendary midfielder believes England have every chance of winning their first major silverware since 1966 in Germany this summer.

But Waddle, 63, is worried their defence could come unstuck against the continent’s best.

“My concern with England is the back four,” stressed Waddle, who played in two World Cups and won 62 caps.

“I think Jordan Pickford has had a really good season for Everton. I don’t think there’s a problem there.

“In midfield, we’ve got numerous players who can play in there and attack-wise we’ve got probably the best selection we’ve had for many years.

“But it’s who you play at the back. We know Kyle Walker will play. He’s very quick but he likes to join in (attack).
