Dallaglio backs Borth boys to land success

- BY PAUL EDDISON

UP FOR THE CUP

ENGLAND are turning into a team that could win the World Cup because players can no longer coast on the back of subpar performances.

That is the view of 2003 World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio, after England completed a spectacular 12 months, winning 11 of their 12 matches.

After an opening defeat to Ireland in Dublin, Steve Borthwick’s side rattled off a run of 11 straight victories, including a first win over the All Blacks since the 2019 World Cup. They also achieved a 2-0 series win away in Argentina in the summer, despite being without their British & Irish Lions contingent.
