Cops could quit over damning TV exposé

POLICE officers featured in a TV documentary may quit because they do not like the way they were portrayed.

Cops from the Avon and Somerset force say they are unhappy about carrying out any more frontline duties, following the screening of To Catch A Copper.

The three-part Channel 4 series, which concludes tomorrow night, has unprecedented access to the force’s counter-corruption unit.

Millions have watched shocking scenes, including officers pepper-spraying a vulnerable woman before making jokes about her.

In another, an officer is shown having sex with a drunk woman walking home.

Officers also mocked a woman suffering from a mental health crisis on Clifton Bridge.

While the force supported the production, the Avon and Somerset Police Federation, the union representing staff, has been unhappy with the lack of balance.
