Mill revamp includes rooftop garden

THIS is the rooftop garden in Stockport which bosses say is one of the tallest in the region outside Manchester city centre.

Part of the £60m transformation of Weir Mill by Capital&Centric, the historic building is being restored in a scheme which will create 253 homes in the heart of Stockport town centre, including two new apartment blocks.

New pictures have offered a first look at the progress, showing the rooftop garden with greenery, seating and views next to the town's iconic viaduct.

The garden was built into the designs with an outdoor kitchen for alfresco dining, and a lawn with space to relax or get involved in yoga classes.
