Investment to revitalise our town

That is why I have long championed the needs of Stockport residents, regularly raising key issues such as transport and healthcare in the House of Commons and meetings with Ministers.

I am therefore delighted that the Labour Government has recently announced a wave of investment that will revitalise Stepping Hill Hospital, bring Bee Network trams to our town centre, and see Brinnington become one of the Government's new trailblazer neighbourhoods.

The Metrolink extension to Stockport, which I have pushed for several times in Parliament, is a game-changer. Backed by a record-breaking £2.5billion investment in regional transport for Greater Manchester, it promises to boost the local economy, improve access to jobs and schools, and make everyday journeys easier.
