Solar panels are to be allowed in a field near a Blairdrummond caravan site.

Blairdrummond Safari Park has been granted conditional approval by Stirling Council planners for 120 ground mounted panels off an existing track, next to offices for the neighbouring Cuthill Brae Caravan Park.

The proposals also include fencing and hedging around the solar panels plus a car parking space.

In their decision, the planners said: "The solar array is sited sufficient distance from dwellings, public access, aviation and defence interests and telecommunication infrastructure such that the layout has addressed a number of the items required to be considered by [planning policy].
