Finn back after debut with Lions
Stirling Observer
|July 02, 2025
It’s straight back to the heat of the action for Finn Russell this morning after his debut for the 2025 British and Irish Lions proved instrumental for their first tour win.
The Bridge of Allan star was pulling the strings fully for the select side on Saturday as they kicked off their matches Down Under with a comprehensive 54-7 win over Western Force in Perth.
The Scotland fly-half was responsible for ten of the Lions points courtesy of five conversions, but sprinkled his stardust on the famous red-shirted side for two of the first three Lions tries.
For the opening score, inside three minutes, the Bath man’s perfectly weighted cross kick found Ireland hooker Dan Sheehan on the opposite touchline.
He palmed the ball back to compatriot James Lowe, who then fed Sheehan for a walk-in opening score.
