Crunch council meeting
Stirling Observer
|November 07, 2025
A crunch meeting of Stirling Council which could see the leadership of the authority change was getting underway as the Observer went to press.
-
The specially-convened meeting took place at Viewforth yesterday, with the SNP group seeking to take over after the victory of 18-year-old Josh Wylie in the Stirling East by-election took their contingent to 10.
It leaves them two short of securing a majority on the 23-strong authority - with the positions of Green councillor Alasdair Tollemache and former SNP and now independent member Alasdair Macpherson vital for the SNP bid for power.
