Stirling side run riot against Lowland League opponents
-
The weather at Newtown Park might have been glorious, but it was raining goals for Stirling Albion as they ran riot in the sunshine.
Saturday's match against the Lowland League side was another opportunity for Alan Maybury's revamped Binos outfit to show off their progress - and they took full advantage as the impressive visitors shared out the goals.
It took just eight minutes for Albion to set the tempo for the game when Aaron Weir's incisive pass found Russell McLean and the forward swivelled and fired a composed finish past the home side's trialist keeper.
But the home side came straight back into the contest three minutes later when Kieran Mitchell took aim from range and smashed an effort into the net.
The match settled into a familiar pre-season rhythm after that, with the ball pinging about on a dry astro surface.
