IIM Jammu inaugurates MDP on "Generative AI Fundamentals for Leaders"

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated a three-day Management Development Program titled "Generative AI Fundamentals for Leaders" from 18th to 20th June 2025, under the aegis of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

Held at the Vedanta MDP Centre, IIM Jammu, the program aims to equip officials with critical insights into Generative AI and its transformative role in leadership, governance, and decision making. The inaugural session was graced online by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address.

Present on the occasion were Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research; Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academies; Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C); and Dr. Pratik Maheshwari, Co-Chairperson, EE&C, IIM Jammu.

The training program witnessed participation from 30 participants representing various Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) across India.

Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, addressed the participants virtually, emphasizing the importance of AI literacy for senior government officials in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

He highlighted that as India moves towards becoming a digitally empowered knowledge economy, public enterprises must leverage AI to enhance governance, operational efficiency, and citizen-centric service delivery.
