Col Mahan reiterates importance of robust connectivity for development of remote areas

In a major push to strengthen road infrastructure in the region, the government has sanctioned Rs 5.63 crores for the macadamization (blacktopping) of various roads under the PWD (R&B) Divisions of Basohli and Billawar.

The sanctioned amount includes Rs 2.89 crores for roads falling under the Basohli Division and Rs 2.74 crores for those under the Billawar Division, under the City and Town Road Macadamization Scheme.
This was announced by Col (Retd) Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman Kathua, during a public meeting held at Marta Nagrota. He informed that the identified roads under both divisions will be taken up for blacktopping work shortly. In addition, similar allocations have also been made for Kathua and Hiranagar PWD divisions to further improve road connectivity across the district.
