On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, Taushi Branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), J&K Prant, jointly with SAMIKSHA, The Society for Promotion of Inclusive and Sustainable Development, organised a multifaceted event to sensitise members of the general public about the urgent need to conserve the environment, especially to curb plastic pollution, at the busy and bustling vegetable and fruit market near the Directorate of School Education, at Muthi, Jammu.

Aligned with this year's global theme for World Environment Day 2025, "End Plastic Pollution," members of Taushi Shakha of BVP, Samiksha and other prominent volunteers distributed cloth bags, posters and leaflets to raise awareness among the large flow of buyers, most of whom traditionally carry vegetables and fruits in polythene bags, about the harmful effects of plastic on our environment.

Members and other volunteers, also engaged with vendors and shoppers, encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly alternatives. It was also appealed that we the people must celebrate special days, but not forget to discharge our duties in the day to day life to keep the environment healthy and clean for our own sake.
