Thugs lured in victim before assaulting him

A MAN was lured to a drugs deal before being assaulted outside a hotel in Swansea, a court has heard.

On September 4 Richard Pearce and Shane Cowell set upon a man outside the White House Hotel near Uplands, Cardiff Crown Court heard on Tuesday.

An arrangement had been made for Pearce to supply the victim with drugs, but when they met in the small backyard area of the hotel, Cowell jumped out from behind a wall and the two set upon him.

The court was told how the victim recalled being hit to the face and body and being kneed as he tried to protect himself.

He was left with a cut to his lip and grazes or cuts to his elbows.

The defendants later made off from the scene but were arrested the following day, Sian Cutter, prosecuting, told the court.
