CAN A NEW DLC FOR THE LATEST KINGDOM COME RPG LIVE UP TO THE ORIGINAL GAME?

- CHERYL MULLIN

Stroke of genius?

WHEN Kingdom Come: Deliverance landed in 2018 it was clear this was more than your bog-standard action-adventure RPG.

This was a game that would make all your medieval fantasies come true - even if you didn't realise you had them.

The game's developer Warhorse Studios, prided itself as much on its historical accuracy as its blockbuster production values, and fans embraced the experience fully.

There was great pressure then for the sequel, which arrived back in early February, to build on the strong foundations of that first outing to Bohemia.

And build on it, it did.

With a game world twice as large as its predecessor, Kingdom's protagonist Henry is no longer an untrained blacksmith's son, but a battle hardened warrior.

Those seeking a magic and dragons-esque type affair may be a bit disappointed, as this is very much a game grounded in what would have been the realities of 15th-century life in a then Imperial State in the Holy Roman Empire.
