Play area set alight in act of 'vandalism'

PLAY equipment was set alight in a Swansea park in an act of vandalism which has left a community "worried for the safety of children".
Fires have been started inside Parc Melin Mynach. A popular birds' nest swing was destroyed.
The fire service was called to deal with a blaze at Parc Melin Mynach in Gorseinon on Sunday in an incident which has been condemned as "mindless" by community leaders.
Police are investigating the blaze, which has been deemed by fire service investigators to have been started deliberately.
Among the apparatus to be destroyed was a birds' nest swing which was particularly popular with small kids.
It is not the first time the park has been targeted by vandals. Back in January, we reported how two benches had been set alight there.
The Friends of Parc Melin Mynach told WalesOnline that the latest incident has caused considerable concern in the area.
