Lake: We need to learn fast to match the best

DEWI Lake believes Wales can take plenty of positives from their opening match of the autumn even though he knows lessons must be learned quickly.

Wales suffered a 52-28 defeat against Argentina at the Principality Stadium on Sunday in Steve Tandy’s first match as head coach.

It was a tough opening encounter for Tandy, with Argentina having enjoyed success in the Rugby Championship over the summer.

Wales were ultimately outclassed as the Pumas ran in seven tries to Wales’ four.

But there was a sharpness to the Welsh attacking game which offered hope of better times ahead, even though areas such as defence and the set-piece clearly need to be worked on.
