BLAENYMAES moved into third spot in the Swansea Senior League Premier Division with a narrow 2-1 win over a visiting Plough Colts side that has lost numerous players since the summer months.
-
Rhys Page put Blaenymaes 1-0 up in the 23rd minute, and the lead was doubled when Jac Davies capitalised on great work by Page.
A Zac Davies penalty in the 68th minute made it 2-1 but Plough's winless start to the season continues and a trip to Letterston in the West Wales FA Intermediate Cup could be what they need in order to get back to winning ways.
Murton Rovers are having their finest top flight season, sitting second in the table and scoring goals aplenty and keeping clean sheets.
Harry Knill put Rovers 2-0 up over hosts Brynawel in the first half and Craig Mildenhall put the game beyond Plough with a well taken finish.
The Old Gold play their first men’s match against Talycoppa in the first round of the West Wales FA Intermediate Cup this coming Saturday.
A 1-1 draw at Clase Social continued Birchgrove Colts’ winless start to the season.
Ben Gallagher opened the scoring in the 12th minute before a goal from Kyle Campbell sealed a point for Clase, who finished the match with 10 men after Ethan Wahab was dismissed in the 83rd minute.
Port Tennant Colts played Penclawdd for the second time in just 14 days and this time there was no sharing of the points, as Colts won a thriller 5-3.
Thomas Brown opened the scoring in the 20th minute and hosts Penclawdd were not behind for long as free-scoring Josh Allen equalised in the 22nd minute.
Jack Tizard Varcoe and Jake O'Grady put Colts 3-1 but Allen was on hand to reduce the arrears to 3-2 with a goal on the stroke of halftime.
