Druids strike late to deliver huge setback to Saints' title ambitions

THERE is still plenty to play for in both divisions as the Swansea Fish Bowling League nears the halfway stage.

The pick of the weekend matches saw 2024 champions Dunvant Druids up against title hopefuls Victoria Saints at Dunvant Park.

And in a competitive match it was the Druids’ rink of Alan Jones, Reg Williams, Huw Richards and skip Rob Richards who scored counts of three and six on the last two ends to secure victory for their team.

Dunvant won the match 57-54 and took the points 9-3.

In the process they knocked the Saints off the top of the table.

Rink scores: Andrew Jones 15-21 Damian Devois, Paul Rees 19-15 Kai Higgins, Rob Richards 23-16 John Higgins.

Sketty, beaten by Jersey in their previous outing, were looking to get back to winning ways when they faced Dyfatty at home.

And they produced a strong display to win on all three rinks and take the match 79-48 and the points 11-1.

In doing so, they opened up an eight-point gap at the top over Victoria Saints.
