Hook full of praise for 'excellent' Llewellyn after call to step up
South Wales Echo
|November 25, 2025
JAMES Hook says Wales star Max Llewellyn was "excellent" against New Zealand after being told to step up by legendary centre Jonathan Davies.
-
Wales lost to the All Blacks on Saturday afternoon but put in a spirited performance against top-tier opposition, making Scott Robertson's side work hard for their victory.
With Ben Thomas dropped from the match day 23, an opportunity came for Scarlets man Joe Hawkins, who partnered Gloucester’s Llewellyn in the centres for a brand new combination.
With the Thomas/Llewellyn pairing failing to work in recent weeks, it now seems like Hawkins and Llewellyn will be linking up in the future after a strong outing together in midfield.
