South Wales Echo
|January 05, 2026
A DANGEROUS driver reached speeds of more than 110mph before being pursued by police - and when brought to a stop, he said: "I'm sorry, I was rushing for work.
As a result of the offence, he has now lost his job
Khalid Al Mohammad, 23, was driving his BMW on the westbound carriageway of the A4232 in Cardiff on October 30 last year when he was seen by police tailgating other cars.
When officers tried to catch up with the defendant, he accelerated to speeds up to 113mph.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Friday heard Mohammad continued to tailgate other vehicles without leaving enough braking time.
