Faver, Campbell opens up about his parents' influence, finding his feet with the Club Brugge first team, as well as his journey to Europe.

Historically, South Africa has had players who have taken Belgian football by storm, from former Bafana Bafana defender Aaron Mokoena making his mark at Germinal Beerschot and KRC Genk, to Lance Davids at Lierse S.K., the late Anele Ngcongca at KRC Genk and Percy Tau at R.S.C. Anderlecht. This year, former SuperSport United midfielder Shandre Campbell is carving out his own path with Club Brugge. The 20-year-old made his professional debut by coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 win over Zulte Waregem. In the second part of the interview with Soccer Laduma's Delmain Faver, Campbell opens up about his parents' influence, finding his feet with the Club Brugge first team, as well as his journey to Europe.

Delmain Faver: Shandre, we had your dad Reshan on Diski Dads, and he spoke very glowingly about you and your achievements. He talked about how he and your mother have supported you, even when things weren't good financially. They were supporting you 100 percent, helping you realise your dreams.

Shandre Campbell: They really play an important role, and I thank them for everything. I thank them every day and I want to make sure that I make it one day for them. (I want to) make it big. I’m sure my father’s name will be one to remember because at the end of the day, I’m doing it for them and for my future family. So, I'm just going to keep working hard for them and I’m going to prove that it’s possible to make it anywhere, no matter where you come from, or the circumstances you are in.

DF: Your father spoke about how things have changed financially for your family. You now live a different life. You have a beautiful house and the privilege of driving a car. So many things have changed for you because of your career. How much pride does that give you, knowing that you're able to make that happen for your parents and your family?

The Chairman and CEO never panicked!

Siwelele FC had a rather difficult start to the 2025/26 season. The club was established in 2025 after the purchase of SuperSport United’s PSL status and was renamed Siwelele FC. To make matters worse, Siwelele suffered six defeats in their first 10 league games. Yet, the club kept faith in coach Lehlohonolo Seema. After all, the man has been around the block, and with over a decade in the dugout, he’s capable of doing the job. In this interview with Tiyani wa ka Mabasa, Seema opens up about stabilising the team and also looks back on the season.
