United suffer Burn blow as defender ruled out for weeks

Eddie Howe has confirmed that Dan Burn will be out for between four and six weeks after suffering an injury against Sunderland on Sunday.

Burn was injured during the first-half of that game following a tackle by Nordi Mukiele. He was initially able to carry on for a few moments before then being withdrawn from the pitch.

Burn was then taken to hospital after struggling to breathe in the changing rooms and it was revealed later that he had suffered rib injuries and a punctured lung. Speaking ahead of tonight’s clash with Fulham in the Carabao Cup, Howe addressed Burn’s injury and the impact his absence will have on his side in the coming weeks.
