Toon eye value for money from expanded network

Newcastle United sporting director Ross Wilson has confirmed that the club have 'expanded' their scouting network and will consider options in foreign markets in the transfer window.

The Magpies have had great success shopping abroad in recent years with Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Sven Botman and, most recently, Malick Thiaw all impressive after joining the club from overseas.

Whilst adapting to the demands of the Premier League can sometimes be an issue for players coming to England, the aforementioned players all settled very quickly on Tyneside and continue to play a major role in Eddie Howe's first-team.

Whilst the Magpies have also had great success when signing players from other Premier League clubs as well, one criticism of their recruitment in recent windows has been the importance they place on Premier League experience.
