Bulbs in all their forms can transform a garden, their presence absent for a large part of the year then suddenly breaking surface as they are now.
-
Contrast a walk through the woodland at Howick Hall in summer with the current scene - massive swathes of Galanthus (snowdrops).
In a similar way we add bulbs to containers as a permanent display feature e.g. dwarf narcissi, crocus or iris emerging up through a group of primroses.
In this garden are standalone summer displays of highly fragrant liliums planted permanently in large pots.
